You Can’t Vote With Your Wallet

I don’t want to vote with my wallet, I want to vote with my damn vote. Is that too much to ask in a democracy? I would like to see some big changes, can i vote for that somewhere? For me to be an actual member of this democratic tribe I need to have some sort of state legitimized ‘say’ on how we proceed. With partisan politics and government thoroughly infested with corporate influence, my opinion is completely un-registrable within the governing of this group- I am not a voting member. (more…)

You Are Legally Obligated to Carry a Cell Phone

For years I’ve proudly had no cell phone. I find something very unnatural and ridiculous about it. Call it whatever the hell you like, its very odd to walk around talking to yourself holding a chunk of plastic against your head. . . . Two people talking in the cafe: “Hold that thought friend, i have something very important to take care of” promptly interrupting the conversation for 3 minutes to hold a salt shaker against her knee and sing to herself.
