The Remi Review Episode 20 – Special Relativity

January 14, 2013

Einstein Special Relativity, quick and easy. Things are never as complicated as we’re led to believe. Nerds candy. Higgs Boson/ God Particle. Quantum Mechanics. Would the frequency of lightwaves from the sun create a ‘beat’ if slowed down enough? Also featuring audio from the camera’s mic. Yea! Something happened with the good audio and it is kaput.

Heat

December 8, 2009

What is “heat” exactly? What are we referring to? The Wikipedia page on heat is unsure. On the left the scientists use the verb “to heat” depicting the transfer of thermal energy from one thing to another, but on the right the flashy photo describes “heat from the sun” as though “heat” were a thing to be passed. Unconventional Beats Keep Rolling on Triangular Wheels!

March 21, 2009

I saw something on Discovery once that blew me away. They had a triangular object that could work exactly like a wheel. They placed two of these rounded triangles on a table spaced apart with a flat board laid on top. Your Universe 1

The old model of the universe came from Euclid and Newton: a 3D grid with time moving forward at an unflinchingly steady speed. As simple as a stack of graph paper under your alarm clock. This old model worked well for a very long time. Even when Fizeau discovered the uniformity of the speed of light, no one noticed a thing- until Einstein.

Einstein did some thought experiments (more…)
