I’m a coward

January 16, 2013

You can too! Change doesn’t require just hero’s and loud mouths. Revolution can come from quiet, reserved people as well- even cowards. Another good example of cowardice- stealing ideas. I took this idea of multi-tier dissent from Huffington Post or somewhere, not even sure. They are second tier and were talking about the flak the first tier gets. My addition to this concept of course is the third tier, the viewing gallery. The place where we can laugh, point and get angry without sparking too much ire from the establishment.

The Remi Review Episode 17 – Copyright

August 28, 2012

Copyright law – everything to do with free speech, nothing to do with protecting art and artists. Its the monetization of speech and ideas. Also this time: Licks Nature Burgers, Kim Dotcom and Megaupload, Sam Ting, Ian Martin. This one came out on Tuesday- This is still a weekend show if you’re into really big weekends. Nothing but problems getting this one to render…Also featuring some errors i can’t be bother to go back and fix including a misplaced bit about GMOs and improper use of the word: “Through” for “Threw”…

The Remi Review Episode 3

May 21, 2012

Longest episode yet, a whole half hour! -if you can handle that much! 12hrs to do first render. 3 hours to export, 2 hours to upload, 2 hours for youtube to process it…This one had my mactop almost smoking, with need for several cool downs. Pet the cat, get a drink, back to editing. Other technical problems this time, hmmm. Spelled ‘develop’ wrong. Forgot colour correction on the far camera. Thanks to James and everyone else!….oh and the contest over when the show will stop showing. Will be updated to state that this is a weekend show filmed on Fridayish. Thanks for watching!

My first Rally/Protest

March 12, 2012

Yes, i did it. Enough has finally happened to my country to inspire me to participate politically beyond the voting polls, facebook groups and blogging. We all have our breaking point. Mine was an illegitimately elected %39 ‘majority’ government passing multiple freedom killing bills all at once- and telling us daily how they have the mandate of Canadians. (more…)

How To Win Arguments When You’re Wrong.

November 15, 2009

We’ve all been there (except me). You know you’re wrong, but you’ll argue to the death that you’re right. Maybe its a monetary bias, you’re personally involved, or maybe you’ve previously said something in error and now you don’t want to flip flop. . . . ..Maybe you just like to screw with people. . . .Whatever your twisted motivation, this is how you win arguments when you are wrong. Pretty Lousy Democracy.

September 3, 2009

We spend a third of our lives working, preparing for work, or traveling to and from work. . . . .While you’re at work you have submitted to the will of a dictator. Whoever your boss is, you listen to him and do what he says. Sure you can protest, offer alternatives etc. . . .In the end he is the boss and he has the final say- there is no vote, there is no free election at work. (more…)

Remi On Liberty

June 1, 2009

Should all people just be able to do whatever they like or should we all be following some set of rules? Without rules we can’t have any real ownership and we can’t enforce that people don’t hurt each other. But rules are rules; as soon as we make any we are taking away liberty. Real freedom is thereby only possible if people are perfectly suited to living amongst one another law free. (more…)
