Alright, I know some people preach this as the greatest upgrade in efficiency since the mechanical man. Multitasking is pretty fantastic, but its position in the hierarchy of efficiency must be considered. If you multi-task poorly, you risk doing a crappy job of any of your particular tasks. But more importantly, poor multitasking can interfere with your efficiency and lengthen the time it takes to finish. (more…)

Working “Full” Time

Employers will always prefer to pay you cash instead of benefits. Benefits will ensure you are taken care of, cash is not so definite. When an employer pays cash only to full time employees, they only have an obligation to the pay rate- not to your needs. There is no guarantee full time employment for cash will support you. Cycling in Toronto

I bike past a sign on my way home from work that says “traffic must yield to pedestrians”. It’s good to know the city is asking drivers to brake when people are walking in front of their cars. All we need now is for the municipality to educate the public with signs saying: “motorists not allowed to kill cyclists”. (more…)

Remi On Liberty

Should all people just be able to do whatever they like or should we all be following some set of rules? Without rules we can’t have any real ownership and we can’t enforce that people don’t hurt each other. But rules are rules; as soon as we make any we are taking away liberty.
